Vascular Plants

Thickson’s Woods is an island—a rare, rich pocket of diverse mix of northern and Carolinean plant species. Together with Corbett Creek Marsh, the adjacent lakeside wetland, it forms a genetic storehouse for the future, a vital web of life.

We have produced a checklist of the Vascular plants of the Reserve, based on work completed by George Scott, Doug Lockrey and others in years past. The checklist is a baseline study of plants recorded historically and will be updated as time goes by to provide data to support the ongoing health of the Reserve. The Checklist is available from the shop.
