Thickson’s Woods is an island—a rare, rich pocket of diverse mix of northern and Carolinean plant species. Together with Corbett Creek Marsh, the adjacent lakeside wetland, it forms a genetic storehouse for the future, a vital web of life.
We have produced a checklist of the Vascular plants of the Reserve, based on work completed by George Scott, Doug Lockrey and others in years past. The checklist is a baseline study of plants recorded historically and will be updated as time goes by to provide data to support the ongoing health of the Reserve.
