The Aquila Newsletter
The purpose of this newsletter is to keep all the supporters of the Matt Holder Environmental Research Fund informed of progress, updates, and information as we collect biodiversity data on Thickson’s Woods Nature Reserve.
We will also publish interesting facts about Thickson’s Woods, as well as examples of projects that have been successful in other places.
There has been an incredible response to the newsletter and the studies, but the question most often asked is “Why is the newsletter called The Aquila?” Simple answer: Matt’s favourite bird as a child was the Golden Eagle (Aquila chrysaetos) and I would tell him bedtime stories of the great Aquila, “King of all the birds”, stories that he relayed to his boys, Craig and Adam when they were younger.
